Overview: Contemporarily
there is no more controversial nutrient than the carbohydrate. Although this is
one of the four essential macronutrients (meaning something we need to provide
essential nutrition to the human body), carbs have come under attack in recent
times. In this video we’ll explore the truth behind carbohydrates. We’ll present
the conclusion that it is not eating carbs that matter, but it’s the type of
carb you eat that determines if they can be a healthy part of your diet. As the
video explains, highly processed (or refined) carbs aren’t very healthy and
should be limited. Unprocessed (or minimally processed) carbs are foods that
can be consumed in significant quantities in a healthy diet. Watch the video
for more information on carbs and which types to include and avoid in a healthy
diet.
