Healthy holiday recipe ideas?
I mentioned doing this in a different thread...but, as the holidays are creeping up on us, I thought it might be fun to start a thread sharing our favorite healthy holiday recipe ideas! I am hosting our family's Christmas Eve celebration for the first time this year, and though we have a lot of food traditions that we incorporate every year, I'd like to try to get my family on board with some healthier options! So let's have a thread and share some ideas for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, New Year's, Festivus, or any other holidays that you celebrate! Doesn't hurt to plan ahead a little!
I made this a couple years ago as a side dish to pass and I liked it...https://www.skinnytaste.com/spicy-buffalo-cauliflower-bites/
And this looks like a potentially tasty option for Thanksgiving leftovers! https://www.skinnytaste.com/baked-turkey-croquettes/

@Beth Manoogian , I grew up on my mother's no-bake chocolate peanut butter cookies. In efforts to maintain tradition with a healthier spin, this recipe does the trick: https://joyfoodsunshine.com/healthy-no-bake-chocolate-peanut-butter-cookies/

@Kemper Sosa I grew up on these too, haven't made them for years because of the sugar load. I'll give this version a try!
@Beth Manoogian I made this for Tgiving one year. It is beautiful and love that it encorporates sweet potatoes, but in a non-traditional way. https://ohmyveggies.com/roasted-sweet-potato-pomegranate-and-massaged-kale-salad/
@Sarah(FSx) Ball Yes! Let me know how they go over with the family!

Made these last year. Easy and delicious. Prepped and cooked some the day before and finished while the bird rested.

Here’s a recipe for green bean casserole without the cream soup or fried onions. I’ve made it for years and my family loves it, just read the directions carefully re: house seasoning or you’ll ruin it.
Ahh, thanks @Eileen McNally !!!! My family's turkey table is always delicious and made with love, but is seriously lacking in green! I think I'll bring one of those dishes this year :)
I’m not sure if anyone still uses the forum or if there’s a way to bump this post but...bump because it’s relevant and holiday themed?
